Wade Davis Settles Down After Shaky First Inning
Durham 4, Lehigh Valley 1. Jeremy Cummings continues to pitch well for Durham, allowing 1 run in 7 innings. He struck out 5 and walked none. He is 6-2 with a 2.91 ERA in 9 starts with 49 Ks in 52.2 innings to just 12 walks...Scott Dohmann struck out the side in the 9th for his 7th save...Fernando Perez was 2-4 with a double and his 3rd home run. He is hitting .277/.363/.398 on the season...Reid Brignac was 1-3 and Dan Johnson was 0-3.

Montgomery 6, Mobile 3. Wade Davis struggled in the first inning, but did pick up his 7th win. In 6 innings he allowed 4 hits and 4 walks which led to 3 runs (2 earned). He added a wild pitch. He struck out 4. However, all of the runs, 2 of the hits, the wild pitch and 3 of the walks came in the first inning. In the last 5 innings he pitched he allowed only 2 singles and a walk. His ERA on the season is now 3.96 and he has only struck out 62 in 88.2 innings with 38 walks...Ryan Reid struck out 2 and walked 1 in 1.1 innings of relief...John Jaso was 2-3 and is now hitting .252. He also committed his 10th and 11th errors...Sergio Pedroza was 2-3 with a pair of doubles and he drove in 2.

Vero Beach 2, Clearwater 1. Seeing two of his teammates promoted to double-A may have given Heath Rollins a bit of a wake-up call. Yesterday he threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 7 and walking 2. He gave up 5 hits, 4 of which were singles...Desmond Jennings was 1-4 with a walk and stole his 4th base...

Columbus 3, Savannah 2. Brian Flores made his 11th start and improved to 6-3 with 2 runs allowed in 5 innings...Chase Fontaine was 2-4 and is now hitting .310/.420/.357 in 12 games since being demoted from Vero Beach...Shortstop Omar Luna was 0-3 but he did steal his 15th base.

Hudson Valley 4, Brooklyn 1. Jason Corder the Rays 7th round pick, an outfielder, had his 4th multi-hit game in his first 6 games as a pro. He is hitting .346.

Princeton 7, Danville 6. Jeremy Beckham had his first big game as a professional, collecting 3 hits in 4 at bats including his first double and first RBI.
