Cummings Named To Olympic Team, Opens Spot In Durham For David Price
Lehigh Valley 4, Durham 3. Ben Hendrickson gave up 4 runs in 5.1 innings...Chris Mason pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief, giving up 3 hits...Fernando Perez was 3-4 with a double. In his last 8 games, he is 16-34 (.471). He is still striking out too much with 14 in the last 10 games and only 2 walks...Dan Johnson was 3-4 with his 17th home run and 3 RBI...Reid Brignac went 0-2 and is hitting .261.

Montgomery 9, Tennessee 6. Jino Gonzalez gave up 4 runs in 5 innings on 10 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 5...Ryan Reid pitched 1 inning, giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and a walk. He struck out 2...Chris Nowak and Gabby Martinez were each 3-5 with a double. Martinez drove in 2...Rocco Baldelli went 1-4 with a single and a walk...Rhyne Hughes finished 2-5.

Lakeland 6, Vero Beach 4. Chuck Tiffany got the start and gave up 2 runs in 2 innings...Wade Townsend threw the next 3 innings, giving up only 1 hit and no runs. He struck out 2 and walked none...Nevin Ashley hit his 2nd home run.

Columbus 5, Lexington 2. Jeremy Hall allowed 2 runs in 6 innings on 8 hits and no walks. Hall did hit 3 batters..Justin Garcia struck out 5 in 3 perfect innings for his 4th save...Mike McCormick was 2-4 and hit his 8th home run, his second in 2 days.

Well there will be baseball for this olympics, but it has already been cut from the London olympics of 2012. Softball was also cut, but [no comment].
