[ALCS]
Reminding Red Sox Nation Where They Came From

Does it make us mean people if we bought a few of these for the Red Sox fans in our lives? We love reminding them that the Rays have as many AL East titles in the last 11 years as the Red Sox and the Rays only sucked for 10 years, not 86.

I have a lot of respect for the Rays and always quietly rooted for them and am thrilled to see they are finally contending... it's about time... but to think we're wasting time on thinking about how the Sox and Rays are tied for division titles over the last 11 years (cherry picking, by the way, to leave 1995 out) is ludicrous... we'll take our two World Series' over the division title...

World Series' are what you're remembered for, not division titles.

lol. Apparently, you know little about baseball history. The Sox had literally dozens of seasons among those 86 years when they were very good, but not good enough - either finishing second to the Yankees before the wild card, winning the pennant and losing in the World Series, or (post 1969 when divisional play started) losing in heartbreaking fashion in the playoffs. The Sox rarely "sucked" over the years. They are not the Cubs. And, though you are right - it is better to win the division than the wild card, and the Rays are AL East champions - the Boston Red Sox are defending World Series champions. Red Sox fans will have new World Series champions t-shirt to wear later this month. You can have your AL East champions t-shirt as a reminder that the Rays finally won more than they lost.

You can offset any potential bad karma by purchasing that shirt through the Rays website. That will put an extra buck or two in the kitty for the Rays to shop with during the off season. So we can do it again next year ;-) Go Rays! Unravel the Sox!

Nobody remembers who won their division. It was great accomplishment by the Rays to win the division but if that is what you are happy with then good for you. The Red Sox have their sights higher than a divisional title.

People do remember who wins the division.

For example, I'm pretty sure you could tell me who won the NL West in 1991 and '92 and '93 and then won the NL East in '95 and '96 and '97 and '98 and '99 and '00 and '01 and '02 and '03 and '04 and '05.
