[RI CONFIDENCE GRAPH]
The Tampa Bay Rays Confidence Survey
Last week's Rays Confidence Graph results.

Below you will see two polls that ask about your confidence in the Tampa Bay Rays. We will present these same polls every Tuesday. The results will be presented in graphical form on Thursday, and will be displayed permanently in the sidebar. The goal of the Confidence Graph is to get a feeling of how Rays fans feel about the team and the franchise and track how that level of confidence changes through time.

Raysiverse events of the past week that could impact confidence levels...

i know you guys are super excited about Burrell but keep in mind that the Yankees just added two top starting pitchers, even if you ignore the teixeira deal. and they are probably going to get Manny to DH which negates Burrell. have fun in 3rd place.

1. Yawn, Anonymous.

2. MLB Trade Rumors is linking to today's Rosenthal column where he says that we are still interested in throwing Gabe Kapler into the outfield mix. Wouldn't be preferable to package some folks up and find one elite outfielder?

yes. I don't see us bringing in Kapler.
Who would you have us go after with said package?

Prof- What's the deal with Rocco? $5 mil if he leaves... how much if he stays? Is the $5 mil paid regardless?

Don't know who I'd want if we gave up a package. I asked that same question here a few weeks ago and I don't think I got a response. Any ideas?

the buyout of Rocco was for $4 million. and that money is gone already. if they picked up his option it would have been $6 million for '09. So the Rays can't sign Rocco for more than $2M or it looks very bad.

have any numbers been posted as to what he is being offered by other teams? Would it look bad to bring him back for $2 mil?

i dont think anybody has offered him a contract yet. sounds like most teams (reds, phillies, red sox, rays, pirates) are still trying to feel out the new medical report. if he does sign i think it will be less than $2M with lots of incentives.
